    Please Join us with CAPCC Humboldt at this year's Children’s Memorial Day and flag-raising ceremony to honor the young lives lost. The ceremony will take place at 9am on Friday, April 25th, at Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods Eureka Teen Center, 3015 J Street. This is a free and public event. Get tickets here: https://ChildrensMemorialDay2025.eventbrite.com The Children’s Memorial Day was established by the California Assembly in April 1997, which formally declared the fourth Friday in April as a statewide annual observance day. On the fourth Friday in April every year the Children’s Memorial Flag is to be flown statewide in memory of all the young lives lost in California due to violence in the previous year. On April 1, 2001, the United States Congress passed a concurrent resolution supporting this National Children’s Memorial Day and its regular occurrence on the fourth Friday in April. This is a day of remembrance set aside to recognize the national tragedy of violence against children.     Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods invites you to National Boys & Girls Club Week Community Celebration on Saturday, June 28, from 12pm-4pm. The celebration will be held at the Eureka Teen Center, 939 Harris Street, Eureka. Bring your friends and family and join us for lots of fun, free games and activities, and some delicious free food! This year’s theme, Fit for the Future, is all about preparing the next generation for success - physically, emotionally, and professionally. We invite the community to Open the Blue Door and experience the life-changing work happening inside the Club.  AT&T is opening a new Connected Learning Center inside the Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods in Eureka to provide members with free access to digital resources, including high-speed AT&T Fiber internet, Wi-Fi and Dell computers. This center will be open to Boys & Girls Club members and is the first in Eureka and the 11th in California. It will also provide free educational resources and mentoring. AT&T plans to open at least 100 Connected Learning Centers by the end of 2027.   • Day For Kids

    Join us for Day for Kids on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from Noon to 4pm. This is a Free community event at the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods Teen Center, located under the water tower off Harris in Eureka. There will be free food from 1-3pm, a Bounce House donated by Dream Athletics, and a visit from Humboldt Bay Fire. We will have the Smoothie Bike and CalFresh Information Table, Tanya the Tea Fairy, Humbubbles, Marciano the Magnificent, and the Tie-Dye Lady! Be sure to bring your own item to tie-dye! Day For Kids, sponsored by Humboldt Sponsors, is a day of fun to celebrate children and youth of all ages. Come and check out our Eureka Teen Center and meet our staff! Children under 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
