Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods, with McKinleyville Community Services District, is incredibly excited to host the First Annual Arts of McKinleyville on Friday, November 18, 2022 at The McKinleyville Teen & Community Center. Arts of McKinleyville will help support our McKinleyville Teen Center program and we invite you to join us as we make a difference in the lives of youth in the Arcata and McKinleyville area. This being the first annual Arts of McKinleyville  event, our goal is to raise $5,000. We ask for your generosity in supporting this event and are looking for sponsors at the following levels: Canvas Sponsor at $500, Easel Sponsor at $250 and Pallete Sponsor at $100.     Giving Tuesday – 5 Minute 5 People Challenge Giving Tuesday is coming up soon and Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods has a 5-minute Giving Tuesday challenge for you! Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. It is celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.). This year it’s on November 29th. In honor of this day, we are asking our community supporters to donate $20 to Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods and 5 minutes of their time passing on this challenge to 5 friends who agree to participate. Our goal is to raise $16,000 to support our programs and raise awareness about the organization. Click the link below to donate and share this page with your friends.   • Day For Kids

    The Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods is hosting a Day for Kids on Saturday, September 16th 2023 from Noon to 4pm. This is a Free community event at the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods Teen Center, located under the water tower off Harris in Eureka. There will be free food, face painting, mini-golf, a DJ, a Bouncy House, and a visit from Humboldt Bay Fire and the Eureka Police Department. We will have the CalFresh smoothie bike and a Hot Wheels demonstration with tracks and hot wheel races. Tabling the event will be the Raven Project, the Youth Services Bureau and Sorrel Leaf Healing Center. This is a day of fun to celebrate children and youth of all ages. Come and check out our Eureka Teen Center and meet our staff! Children under 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The ceremony will take place at 9am on Friday, April 25th, at Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods Eureka Teen Center, 3015 J Street. This is a free and public event. On the fourth Friday in April every year the Children’s Memorial Flag is to be flown statewide in memory of all the young lives lost in California due to violence in the previous year. On April 1, 2001, the United States Congress passed a concurrent resolution supporting this National Children’s Memorial Day and its regular occurrence on the fourth Friday in April. This is a day of remembrance set aside to recognize the national tragedy of violence against children. We invite the community to Open the Blue Door and experience the life-changing work happening inside the Club.  AT&T is opening a new Connected Learning Center inside the Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods in Eureka to provide members with free access to digital resources, including high-speed AT&T Fiber internet, Wi-Fi and Dell computers. This center will be open to Boys & Girls Club members and is the first in Eureka and the 11th in California. It will also provide free educational resources and mentoring. AT&T plans to open at least 100 Connected Learning Centers by the end of 2027.
