Hello BGCR Families!

We are so excited to be nearing the end of winter, but as a reminder, encourage your youth to dress appropriately on rainy days. With February started, we will be having a couple of upcoming events. First is our Ross event, where a couple of staff and members will collect donations for BGCR at Ross and spread awareness about the Boys and Girls Club.

Later in the month will be Valentine’s Day, we know the schools usually do a big celebration and we will likely be doing one ourselves. For this year staff believe a compliment exchange event will be a fun and positive experience for all our members. Of course there will also be some Valentine’s Day chocolates passed out by our staff.

In addition, our Clubs are going to be starting Monthly field trips, Passport to Manhood and SMART Girls are already setting dates to visit our local parks. Finally, while the Clubhouse will be closed for Presidents Day, February 16th, we will be open for our break hours over the rest of Presidents week (11 AM to 5 PM). If you have any questions feel free to check our Calendar or give us a call or visit.

Youth of the Month

January

Kayden is one of the most consistent members at the Clubhouse, always bringing a positive attitude. He is outspoken in the best way and never hesitates to advocate for others, while still being polite and respectful when communicating with staff. Kayden is actively involved in Power Hour, FNL, and Torch Club, and he truly strives to be the kind of role model he hopes other members will follow.

February

William is an active member who attends regularly and rarely misses a day at the Clubhouse. He is kind to his friends, communicates great with staff and participates in multiple programs each day. William regularly attends Power Hour to get his homework done each day and plays in every Triple Play sports activity. He is a big voice in our Passport to Manhood club, and he helped serve food at our most recent family dinner.
