DESCRIPTION:Please Join us with CAPCC Humboldt at this year’s Children’s Memorial Day and flag-raising ceremony to honor the young lives lost. The ceremony will take place at 9am on Friday\, April 25th\, at Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods Eureka Teen Center\, 3015 J Street. \nThis is a free and public event. Get tickets here: https://ChildrensMemorialDay2025.eventbrite.com \nThe Children’s Memorial Day was established by the California Assembly in April 1997\, which formally declared the fourth Friday in April as a statewide annual observance day. On the fourth Friday in April every year the Children’s Memorial Flag is to be flown statewide in memory of all the young lives lost in California due to violence in the previous year. \nOn April 1\, 2001\, the United States Congress passed a concurrent resolution supporting this National Children’s Memorial Day and its regular occurrence on the fourth Friday in April. This is a day of remembrance set aside to recognize the national tragedy of violence against children. \nPlease Join CAPCC Humboldt at this year’s Children’s Memorial Day and flag-raising ceremony to honor the young lives lost.
